This notice separates local app processing, website access, support email and purchases handled by Apple.

Who is responsible?

Screenshots and local processing
The app stores captures, original images, editable annotations, recognized text, tags, favorites and settings locally in your macOS user account. OCR and redaction suggestions run on your Mac. The app has no built-in cloud upload, advertising tracker or analytics SDK.
Permission, retention and exports
Screen access is used for captures you request. Saved editable projects may retain the original image and recognized text. Library deletion and retention settings do not remove separate exports or system backups. Protect access to your Mac and review exports before sharing.
This website
This static website is hosted by IONOS (IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany). It embeds no advertising, remote fonts or external tracking widgets. When you click the MainSnap App Store link, we record the click on our own server to distinguish interest in MainSnap from MainClip. The event contains the product, page path, language and fixed App Store destination; the server also stores the time, IP address, browser information and referrer. This measurement uses no cookies, local storage, fingerprints or cross-site identifiers. Click records are stored in a separate, access-protected file; the web-server log rotation described below does not delete them. The language is carried in the URL without cookies or local storage. The server processes access and security logs, which can include IP addresses, access times, browser details and requested files, to operate and protect the site. The existing hosting also uses AWStats to produce usage statistics from server logs. The configured log rotation has a 10 MiB size threshold and retains up to 10 rotated files per log. This size- and count-based rotation sets no fixed retention period; the actual duration depends on traffic. It does not establish a deletion period for statistics derived from the logs.
Support and Apple purchases
When you email support, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you send. We use them to answer your request and retain them only as needed, subject to applicable retention duties. Apple separately handles App Store distribution, payment and account data under its own terms and privacy policy.
Purpose and your choices
Contract-related support is handled under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR; general support and secure website operation rely on legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f). Where applicable, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, object to processing, and complain to a supervisory authority.
